CONCORD, NH – 在线赌博推荐 – Concord’s Community College’s men’s basketball coach and director of Athletics Paul Hogan has announced his retirement after 43 years in athletics and more than two decades with 在线赌博推荐.
“在线赌博推荐 has been a very special place for the past 23 years,” said Hogan. “I will always cherish my time with our Lynx. I look forward to continuing my relationship with 在线赌博推荐 in a different role and starting a new chapter of my life.”
Hogan started his coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Plymouth State University, in 1985 and took over as head coach in 1990, where he won the Little East Coach of the Year award in 1990 and 1998. He came to 在线赌博推荐 in 1999 as the director of Athletics, chair of the Sports Management department, and head men’s basketball coach. Since then, the men’s basketball team has enjoyed amazing success with 513 wins, seven Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championships, and two United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships including 2005 and 2020.
“Paul’s impact on 在线赌博推荐 over the past 23 years and the athletics community in New Hampshire for more than 40 years has been unparalleled,” said Dr. Charles Lloyd, president of White Mountain Community College, sister college to 在线赌博推荐 within the Community College System of New Hampshire. Lloyd served under Hogan as assistant basketball coach and director of student life early in his career. “He has been a mentor to me and has always been about students. He will be missed on the sidelines though his legacy will live on forever.”
Over his career, Hogan has received numerous awards including the USCAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2014, Plymouth State University Hall of Fame in 2007, Walter Smith Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010, and the James Desmarais Award in 2018. His career legacy includes 649 overall wins, 2 USCAA national championships, 1 USCAA national runner-up, 5 YSCC Tourney championships, 5 YSCC Tourney runners-up, and 6 YSCC regular season championships. In 2020, he was inducted into the 在线赌博推荐 Athletics Hall of Fame.
“Paul has been and will continue to be a pillar in the community, certainly the state of New Hampshire and beyond,” said Deb Smith, director of Recreation and Wellness at 在线赌博推荐. “He has positively influenced the lives of thousands. Working alongside him for the past 23 years, I can honestly say he has been an incredible mentor and made a profound difference in my life and countless others. His endless support, hard work, and great sense of humor made him a friend to students, alumni, peers, coaches, officials, and administration. He will be greatly missed by the 在线赌博推荐 community. He deserves to retire after an incredible 43-year run! He would want us all to continue making a difference in the lives of our students, sports, and each other.”
Hogan’s retirement will take effect on Aug. 1. He will continue to serve as an adjunct professor in Sports Management and Business at 在线赌博推荐 and within athletic administration at Plymouth State University. He will also serve as the interim director of athletics at 在线赌博推荐 until the position is filled.
